A very short time ago, life used to treat me better. As a present I received a PowerBook G-4 running with mac os X ver.9, and discovered the beautiful realm of movie-clip editing in Final Cut. What I am trying to say is that I am very new to the interface, outside editing in FC my knowledge is extremely limited. Turning the warning signs off the problem I have is the following: I got back to my house from a long trip to discover that my computer had crashed to the ground in my absence, the physical damage wasn’t as nasty as expected, the injuries can only be seen in the top right corner of the screen’s case and on the lower right corner of the key-pad. My brother sent to fix the computer and by the looks of it what those guys did was just making the computer run from the start-up.
Since the crash it has the following disastrous side-effects:
-When importing audio tracks to FC a nasty and continuous bleep is added to the song.
-While managing several tasks at the same time the computer freezes.
-While surveying certain folders (specially in the utility folder) it also freezes.
-The msn messenger’s icon appears with an incrustrated interrogation sign on top of it and the app can’t be opened.
-One program makes the computer freeze. So I uninstalled it and downloaded it again, but the installer I download appears with a Microsoft excel icon.
-When I try to hear certain songs, specially with the interpol’s first album, in my I-tunes music library, the song stops and the spinning wheel appears.
-And the shittiest recent side effect is: Yesterday when I launched the I-tunes player the ever spinning wheel appeared and the following paraphrased warning sign popped in the screen: the music library isn’t recognized by I-tunes, or something to that effect.
I need serious help. Before I found this community that gathers all of the big hearts on the net I entered mac softpedia, in the site they have a good article titled “prevent the mac disaster” and its too much for my current knowledge, so I have been looking for help ever since…
Forgot to add that I already checked the permissions.
